Governance

Board of Directors
The NECSC is currently governed by a Charter Board. During 2007, this Board will be enhanced with additional members drawn from the leading professions and industries deemed essential to engage in the effort to promote widespread adoption of energy- and resource-efficient community development.

By 2008, there will be eight-seats on the Board filled by senior executive level representatives from the nation’s leading organizations in the eight strategic sectors depicted below (Figure 1). Selection criteria for prospective board members will include a proven track record of leadership and innovation within their industries and a commitment to advance environmentally responsible corporate citizenship both locally and globally. The Board will meet semi-annually in Chula Vista, California.

Advisory Panel
During 2007, an Advisory Panel will be established consisting of selected national experts in each of the strategic sectors contained in Figure 1. The Advisory Panel will be invited to meet annually at an event conducted in consort with the annual meeting of the Board of Directors.

Ex-Officio Panel
To engage and accommodate the perspectives of relevant Federal, regional, state and community government entities, the Center will also establish an Ex-Officio Panel of Advisors. One individual representing government entities at each of these levels of government and with expertise in one of the eight sectors listed above, will be sought as Ex-Officio Advisors to the Center.
