Applied Systems Engineering
NECSC initiatives in this area are primarily short-term, applied research projects ranging from 1-month to 18-months in duration, rather than primary research projects that often extend over a decade or more. Most of this research entails the integration and optimization of existing, proven technologies and systems, rather than those of a more experimental nature that are unproven. The specific focus of this research encompasses: energy-efficient (EE) and renewable energy (RE) technologies and systems; building technologies and systems; and community infrastructure and mobility systems.
